  32. Description:

  34. XChars is a replacement for the Chars utility that comes with RISC OS
  35. with a lot of additional features, such as:
  36. - multiple windows
  37. - outline fonts at arbitrary sizes
  38. - font aspect, line/character spacing control
  39. - different arrangements of characters (+optional display of ctrl chars)
  40. - configurable default settings
  41. - character zoom window at configurable size by clicking Adjust on a letter
  42.   (during the duration of the button press only or as a persistent window)
  43. - configurable character insertion hot key: Shift, Ctrl or Alt (both keys
  44.   or only left/only right key)
  45. - option to install an application icon on the icon bar
  46. - all options can be set independently in each window
  47. - "hotlist": the state of all options (font,font size,line spacing etc.) of
  48.   a window can be saved (associating a name with it) and restored later
  49.   from the hotlist menu
  50. Version 1.04 contains a major bug fix and the ability to display the
  51. character code of the character under the pointer.
